Deliver your content to your partners using a simple web service API call

Digital DIYstribution is an internet-scale, B2B digital process automation (DPA) services company. We have designed process automation software that allows you to distribute content with the click of a button. Integration is easy. Our account managers will work with you and set you up with our system, so your deliveries will be up and running in no time.

STEP 01:

Send Request

When you want to send a release to a streaming service, just notify us through a simple web service call. Our distribution systems are patiently waiting and will spring into action immediately upon receiving a new delivery request.

STEP 02:

Connecting to storage

First, our distribution systems will connect to your online storage systems and fetch the media files for the requested release

STEP 03:

Retrieve Your Metadata

Next, it will proceed to retrieve the associated metadata that you have prepared

STEP 04:

Finally, we package everything together, and deliver it to the streaming partner according to their exact delivery specifications. It really is that simple.

Manage Your Own Data

The way our digital delivery service works is a little different from the other digital distributors. Our clients manage their own metadata and media files and they notify us through a web service call when they would like to deliver a release and to which service. Our software then connects to the client to retrieve the metadata and media files and then processes the content and then deliveries.

Integration Is Easy

We have several integration options. For companies with limited technical expertise, we provide them an online spreadsheet template with which they enter their metadata. The client also uploads their media files to an internet accessible storage server such as an FTP, SFTP, S3, Google Drive, Box or Azure Cloud Storage and provides us access permissions to access this data.

Distributing music doesn’t have to be so expensive, difficult, or complicated. We’ll work with you to find a solution that fits with the way you already do business – not the other way around.

  • Large content owners/digital aggregators with catalogs too large to store in someone else’s content management system
  • Software or data management companies that want to easily offer distribution services to their clients
  • Tech-savvy content owners familiar with & eager to implement an API distribution solution

Digital DIYstribution is an easy way to manage the delivery of your content to retail partners. First, upload the media files for a release to either a cloud storage service (Google Drive, Amazon S3, Box, Azure, etc…) or to an SFTP server. Then, enter the metadata for the release into a pre-formatted Google Spreadsheet (provided by Digital DIYstribution). When you’re ready to deliver this content, you can signal the Digital DIYstribution service, which requires sharing access to your media file storage account and your metadata spreadsheet. This allows us to connect and retrieve the data needed to perform the digital distribution functions.

All you need to do is make sure your release’s metadata has been entered accurately into the metadata spreadsheet, and that your media files are uploaded to the storage location. Digital DIYstribution will handle the rest. We currently work with a wide range of content suppliers to successfully deliver content to digital music retailers globally.

The Digital DIYstribution content delivery technology and services are unique in the marketplace and provide the following benefits:

  • Google spreadsheet and media file storage service accounts are owned and controlled by the Content Supplier
  • Content Suppliers retain control of their media files and metadata
  • Content Suppliers maintain their own data quality
  • Content Suppliers control their own content delivery schedules
  • Content Suppliers maintain a direct relationship with their retail partners

Digital DIYstribution handles the technical aspects of delivery, while the management of your content remains in your hands. You are responsible for storing, inputting, and managing your data, and you control when your deliveries are sent. This aspect of our business allows for you to maintain control of your content, and for us to keep our prices low.

Technical FAQ

The majority of music services only accept flac files. However, if your content is encoded in a different file format, our software does have transcoding capabilities. Therefore, you can upload WAV or MP3 to your media file server, but those files will need to be converted to FLAC. When you trigger deliveries, our system will first convert your other file types to FLAC, and then deliver them to the requested music service.

Most of our clients use images that are 300 dpi, JPEG files, and between 1400×1400 – 3000×3000 in dimension.

We offer a no-hassle, cost-effective distribution solution for small to medium record labels and content companies. See how easy it is to distribute your content using Digital DIYstribution!
