The way our digital delivery service works is a little different from the other digital distributors. Our clients manage their own metadata and media files and they notify us through a web service call when they would like to deliver a release and to which service. Our software then connects to the client to retrieve the metadata and media files and then processes the content and then deliveries.
We have several integration options. For companies with limited technical expertise, we provide them an online spreadsheet template with which they enter their metadata. The client also uploads their media files to an internet accessible storage server such as an FTP, SFTP, S3, Google Drive, Box or Azure Cloud Storage and provides us access permissions to access this data.
Digital DIYstribution is an easy way to manage the delivery of your content to retail partners. First, upload the media files for a release to either a cloud storage service (Google Drive, Amazon S3, Box, Azure, etc…) or to an SFTP server. Then, enter the metadata for the release into a pre-formatted Google Spreadsheet (provided by Digital DIYstribution). When you’re ready to deliver this content, you can signal the Digital DIYstribution service, which requires sharing access to your media file storage account and your metadata spreadsheet. This allows us to connect and retrieve the data needed to perform the digital distribution functions.
All you need to do is make sure your release’s metadata has been entered accurately into the metadata spreadsheet, and that your media files are uploaded to the storage location. Digital DIYstribution will handle the rest. We currently work with a wide range of content suppliers to successfully deliver content to digital music retailers globally.

We support delivery to a wide range of music services, including, but not limited to, the following:
Licenses for many of the music services to which we deliver can be obtained through Merlin. Additionally, our company is licensed through Merlin to provide content to a number of DSPs. If you are interested in using our license for your content, please reach out for more information.
The majority of music services only accept flac files. However, if your content is encoded in a different file format, our software does have transcoding capabilities. Therefore, you can upload WAV or MP3 to your media file server, but those files will need to be converted to FLAC. When you trigger deliveries, our system will first convert your other file types to FLAC, and then deliver them to the requested music service.
Most of our clients use images that are 300 dpi, JPEG files, and between 1400×1400 – 3000×3000 in dimension.
